Abstract

     Impact of Strategic Planning on Performance Development in Yemeni Higher Education Institutions: a Study at Al-Saeed University.

     This study aimed to know both the level of strategic planning and institutional performance at Al-Saeed University - Republic of Yemen. It also aimed to consider the impact of strategic planning on institutional performance. The study population consisted of all employees at Al-Saeed University, numbering (134) employees. The questionnaire tool was used for data collection and it was distributed to the population using the comprehensive survey method. All the questionnaires were valid for statistical analysis.

     To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive analytical approach was adopted.In addition, a number of statistical methods were used, e. g. arithmetic averages, standard deviations, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and simple and multiple linear regression coefficients.

     The results showed that the level of both strategic planning and institutional performance at Al-Saeed University was high. The results also showed that there was a statistically significant effect of strategic planning in its all dimensions (strategic orientation, strategic analysis, and strategic alternatives) had a positive effect on institutional performance. Moreover, the results showed that strategic planning at Al-Saeed University explained 64.8% of the variance in overall institutional performance.
